What we don't collect

BandLift has no sign-up, no forms that send data to us, no advertising, no analytics or tracking scripts, and sets no cookies.

Data stored in your browser

The study app saves your progress using your browser's local storage: ticked tasks, your exam date, score calculator values, drill scores, writing drafts, flashcard marks, a list of your recent study activity and the minutes you study each day. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our server. You can delete it at any time with Reset all progress in the My progress tab, or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. A backup file you download is saved on your device, not on our server.

To let the site work offline, your browser also keeps a copy of BandLift's pages and styles (a “service worker” cache). It contains only the site's own files, nothing about you.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our web server records basic technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent string. We use these logs only to keep the site secure and working, and they are deleted automatically on a rolling basis.

Third-party services

• No third-party requests. Fonts, styles and scripts are all served from this site. Your browser doesn't contact any other company when you use BandLift.
• Text-to-speech. The listening drill uses your device's built-in speech engine. On some browsers, voices marked as online voices may send the spoken text to the browser maker's servers. The text is practice content only and contains nothing about you.
• Microphone. The speaking recorder and the Speaking tests use your microphone only after you give permission. Recordings are made and played back inside your browser and are never uploaded; they disappear when you close the page unless you download them.
• Links. Links to other websites, such as official IELTS sites, are covered by those sites' own policies.

Children

BandLift is intended for adults and older teenagers preparing for IELTS. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
